West Lothian children remain in critical condition after yesterday’s M8 crash



Two children remain in a critical condition after a horror crash on the M8 on the weekend.

Police officers confirmed this morning that the kids have been nonetheless being handled at The Sick Kids in Edinburgh and their condition was “critical”.

The accident occurred on the M8 at junction 4, close to Whitburn at round 9.50am on Sunday and concerned a brown Ford Focus and a black Volkswagen Golf.

The occupants of the Ford Focus – a person, a girl, and two children aged six and 14 – have been taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, and the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People, with severe accidents.

The feminine driver of the Volkswagen Golf was taken to University Hospital Wishaw with severe accidents.

The highway was closed till 2.35pm.

Sergeant Jennifer Forbes stated: “We’re asking for anyone who witnessed the collision or has any potential dashcam footage of the cars involved to please come forward.

“If you believe you can assist our investigation, please call 101, quoting incident 1158 of 17 October.”
