Man dies after Scarborough motel fire

A person in his 40s has died from accidents after being caught in a fire in a Scarborough motel room on Monday morning.

Police and fire crews had been referred to as to the motel on Kingston Rd. close to Rockwood Dr. at 7:05 a.m. for a name of smoke and a person in a locked room.

“There were reports of heavy smoke coming from a hotel room,” Toronto Police Const. Ed Parks stated. “The door was too hot to touch.”

Firefighters had been in a position to put the fire out and the person was transported to hospital, the place he later died.

The case is beneath investigation.
